Ice Skating at the Tower of London!

Aww! Apologize for being busy and not blogging for a while! You know being a vet student means you need to work even in your holidays.

Now it's time to introduce our lovely visit to the Tower of London. The full name of it is called " Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress". Sitting at the north bank of the River Thames, it was built in 1078 by William the Conqueror, was used as a prison until 1952, although that was not its primary purpose. In early history, it was served as the royal residence. And nowadays, the Tower of London has become one of the most attractive visiting place in UK. And there was a nice ice skating square built underneath it-- that was where we visited and had fun skating.

The weather was so pretty and sunny that day (thanks London),everyone got excited when we started changing skating shoes.Luckily I was born in the coldest part of China and learnt how to skate since I was born, I jumped onto skating square as soon as I say it. Although haven't skate for quite a while, I got the idea back relative easily.

You know it's almost impossible for you to make any friends in your lecture hall or the dissection room. The only way you can quickly make friends and get into UK culture I think, at least for me, is joining more socials, be brave enough to talk to people even if English is your second language. Thus as you can see, I quickly made friends with the lovely girls who have completely different nationalities and culture from me. We skated hand in hand, gossiped (Don't blame me! That's what normal school girls should do!), laughed a lot and forgot time had passed so quick.

As soon as we made friends with each other, the girl in brown, who is called Anna, knocked onto me, I fell down and that was my first time hugging ice in London! Nice!
The guy with amazing hair style in the picture is my manager, Richard. Thank him for taking all the pictures for us but only skated for a little while himself. You know British guys behave so gentle when they are not drunk, even during ice skating. I wish I could do a mischief while skating:I want to push him down. Haha: )

After skating, we had coffee together in the hall next to the skating square and finished the trip. I strongly advice whoever coming to London go ice skating at The Tower of London, it's a great chance to feel the traditional UK culture, make local friends, and have fun!

To be continued: Tour to the Palace of Westminster!
